Zafiro is Mallorcan and family-owned, and its Palace properties are aimed squarely at families who want space rather than a wristband experience. The rooms are the argument: suite layouts with separate sleeping areas and, in many cases, a private pool or swim-up terrace, which is a genuinely different proposition from a standard twin with a balcony. Both catalog properties are five star and both rate well with guests.

Last reviewed August 2026 How we score

The two are not interchangeable. Zafiro Palace Alcudia sits on the long sandy north-coast bay at Port d'Alcudia, walkable to a real resort town and the strongest choice for families with younger children. Zafiro Palace Andratx is at Camp de Mar in the southwest, quieter and more scenic, on a smaller beach in a more upmarket corner of the island. Board is flexible at both, so all-inclusive is priced as an upgrade against half board rather than assumed.

The case for

Book Zafiro if

  • Families who want room space and a private pool rather than a bigger entertainment programme
  • Parents of younger children, at Alcudia in particular, for the shallow north-coast beach
  • Couples and quieter groups, at Andratx, for the southwest setting
The caveats

Know before you book

  • All-inclusive is a board upgrade, and Mallorca has enough good food outside the gates that half board is often the better buy
  • Camp de Mar's beach is small compared with the Alcudia bay, which matters in August
  • Seasonal: the Mallorcan resort season runs roughly May to October

Frequently asked questions

Which is better, Zafiro Palace Alcudia or Zafiro Palace Andratx?

They suit different trips. Alcudia is on the big shallow north-coast bay with a resort town you can walk into, which makes it the easier choice with young children. Andratx at Camp de Mar is quieter, more scenic and more grown-up, on a smaller beach. Andratx carries the marginally higher guest rating in our catalog; the ranking above compares both.

Do Zafiro Palace rooms have private pools?

Many do. Suite categories with a private or swim-up pool are the brand's signature and the main reason people book it over a conventional Mallorcan resort. It is a room-category question rather than a hotel-wide one, so check the specific suite type before booking.
