    Fiji Marriott Momi Bay is a polished main-island resort with overwater bures, for travellers who want that room without an outer-island flight. It is about 45 minutes from Nadi, with 250 rooms, three pools including an adults-only infinity pool and a children's pool with water guns, and a sheltered man-made lagoon in front of it. The bures are why it lands on lists like this, and the catch is the location: there is nothing to walk to. Guests praise the overwater bures and the lagoon views, the pools and the resort facilities, the Fijian service, and the all-inclusive package where they take it. The complaints are a remote position away from Denarau's restaurants and marina, a lagoon that is not an outer-island reef beach, and food and drinks that get expensive without a package. The thing people wish they had known is that the all-inclusive is a rate plan rather than the default booking, so the base rate is effectively room-only. The base rate covers Wi-Fi and the Turtles Kids' Club for ages four to twelve and not much else: the meals, the bars, the water sports, the spa, the excursions and the transfer from Nadi are pay-as-you-go unless you book one of the resort's meal or all-inclusive packages. Price that package against room-only, because it pays off only if you eat in, and eating out here means a drive. The 60-square-metre Over-Water King Bure is adults-only with steps into the lagoon, and the 75-square-metre Royal Ocean Front Bure is the family version of the splurge. Anyone who wants a reef off the beach should take a boat to the outer islands.
