Tivoli is one of Portugal's established hotel names, now part of the Minor Hotels group, and only a small part of its portfolio is all-inclusive. The two properties in our catalog are the ones that matter for this category, and they are genuinely different trips. Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort is a large clifftop-and-beach resort on the western Algarve, running a proper inclusive programme with kids facilities. Tivoli Ecoresort Praia do Forte is on the Bahia coast north of Salvador in Brazil, and is the more distinctive of the two.

Last reviewed August 2026 How we score

Praia do Forte is the reason this brand comes up in searches it otherwise would not. The resort sits beside one of Brazil's best-known sea turtle conservation projects, and the ecological framing is not decoration: it shapes the grounds, the beach and what the resort does with guests. If you are choosing between them, you are really choosing between a dependable European beach week and a Brazilian coastal trip with a conservation centre attached.

Tivoli resorts, ranked

  1. Lounge chairs with canopies line the bright blue pool deck at Tivoli Ecoresort Praia do Forte, with palm trees and beach cabanas visible beyond.

    Five-star4.7 guest rating (3,764)Palmprint 8.6/10From $185/night pp

On a coconut-palm beach in Bahia near a sea-turtle conservation area, this is Brazil's eco-minded all-inclusive, adventure excursions, big tropical gardens, and proper Brazilian food and cocktails. A different flavor from the Caribbean, with Salvador's culture within reach. Best in Brazil's summer, roughly September through March.

  2. Modern white resort buildings with green accent panels line a manicured lawn and pathway at Tivoli Alvor Algarve, with palm trees and pool visible beyond.

    Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort

    Five-star4.2 guest rating (1,069)Palmprint 8.5/10From $136/night pp

Tivoli Alvor is a 491-room resort near Alvor in the western Algarve, with six outdoor pools, waterslides and a splash pad. The kids club takes four to fourteen, children stay free, and the family rooms go up to a two-bedroom at 66 square metres that sleeps six, which is the strongest family inventory in our Portuguese listings. It is lively rather than quiet, and the entertainment programme is loud enough that guests mention it. The package tier decides a great deal here, so compare the two before you book. Standard All Inclusive covers the buffet and two bars, with thematic restaurant dinners rationed by length of stay and subject to availability. Premium opens all four restaurants properly, adds a minibar with sparkling wine and a spa voucher, and widens the drinks. Guests who found the a la carte access disappointing were almost all on Standard. Room service is not in either package, and the spa treatments are charged beyond the voucher. Our sample puts a night at 271 dollars for two, and the other thing to plan around is the beach: this is not a beachfront resort. Praia da Prainha is about thirteen minutes on foot and Praia dos Tres Irmaos about sixteen, with a shuttle for the days you would rather not walk. Faro airport is about forty-five minutes away and the transfer is extra. Book the Premium tier if you intend to eat in the restaurants, and a two-bedroom if you need real doors between the beds.

The case for

Book Tivoli if

  • Algarve travelers who want an inclusive rate at a full-size beach resort rather than a hotel
  • Trips to Bahia where the coast, the turtles and the setting are the point
  • Families who want a recognised European hotel brand rather than a dedicated AI chain
The caveats

Know before you book

  • Most Tivoli hotels are not all-inclusive, so confirm the specific property and rate
  • The two inclusive resorts are on different continents with different seasons; do not read one's reviews as the other's
  • The Algarve is seasonal, and Alvor is busiest through the European summer

Frequently asked questions

Is Tivoli Ecoresort Praia do Forte all-inclusive?

Yes, it runs an all-inclusive plan, which is part of why it appears in searches alongside Caribbean resorts. It sits on the Bahia coast at Praia do Forte, next to the long-running sea turtle conservation work the village is known for, and the ecological angle genuinely shapes the resort rather than just its marketing.

Are all Tivoli hotels all-inclusive?

No. Tivoli is a broad Portuguese hotel brand and most of its properties are conventional hotels sold on room rates. Only a small number run all-inclusive plans, and those are the ones ranked above.
