Jamaica vs St. Lucia
The Caribbean's two great honeymoon islands, and even Sandals can't decide; it operates flagships on both. Jamaica is bigger, easier to reach, and more culturally alive; St. Lucia is the scenery play, with the Pitons rising out of the sea beside resorts that feel carved into the jungle. Neither is the budget option; both are the memory option.

Approximate climate normals for Montego Bay and Northwest coast (Rodney Bay–Soufrière): planning guidance, not a forecast. A deeper tint is a higher number, read within its own row.
Round by round
St. Lucia: the Pitons are the single most dramatic backdrop in the Caribbean, and the island's volcanic lushness makes every infinity pool look photoshopped. Jamaica is beautiful; St. Lucia is cinematic.
Jamaica: more nonstops, shorter flights from North America, and resorts closer to the airport (Montego Bay especially). St. Lucia's UVF sits an hour-plus of winding road from the Soufrière showstoppers.
Jamaica: Seven Mile Beach and the north coast out-sand St. Lucia's smaller, darker-sand coves. St. Lucians would say you came for the Pitons, not the sandbox; they're right.
St. Lucia: its cliffside, open-wall, Piton-view properties are singular. Jamaica's best resorts are excellent but conventionally shaped.
Jamaica for range (music, falls, food); St. Lucia for concentrated wow (sulfur springs, rainforest, the Pitons themselves). Call it taste.
Of the 3 measures we call, Jamaica leads on 2 and St. Lucia leads on 1.
The verdict
If the honeymoon brief is 'the view from the room', book St. Lucia and pay the transfer time happily. If it's beach mornings, cultural texture, easier logistics, and more resort choice at every budget, Jamaica wins. Sandals loyalists comparing the brand's own islands: the St. Lucia properties trade Jamaica's beaches for scenery, the same decision in miniature.

Frequently asked questions
Is St. Lucia more expensive than Jamaica?
Typically somewhat, resort-for-resort: smaller supply, honeymoon demand, and dramatic real estate. Jamaica offers far more choice below the luxury tier.
