Pools and the beach
Pools & waterplay
Pool count and swim-up/family pool details should be manually verified against the current resort map; recent reviews support swim-up family-room pools and main pool depth caveats.
The beach itself
Beachfront Kokkini Hani setting on northern Crete; water is generally usable but can be wavy or wind-affected.
- Moderate water, swimmable most days
- Caveat: Entry depth varies along the shore

- Does Mitsis Selection Rinela have a kids' club, and from what age?

Mitsis Selection Rinela is a premium all-inclusive beach resort on Crete's north coast, for families who want polished food minutes from the plane. It is about 15 minutes from Heraklion's airport, a five-star with seven restaurants, five bars, five pools with waterslides, swim-up rooms and private-pool suites on a beachfront. It has the quality of the Mitsis flagships with a shorter transfer than any of them.
Guests praise the food variety and the a la carte restaurants, the friendly staff and the polished condition of the resort, and a beachfront so close to the airport that the first swim comes within the hour. The complaints are that the a la carte restaurants need booking early, that the main pool is deep for young children, and that some family room bed layouts and storage disappoint. The thing people wish they had known is that the restaurant bookings are the one piece of planning the week needs.
The plan covers the buffet, the a la carte restaurants with reservation rules and the daytime snack outlets, a minibar restocked daily and Wi-Fi; the spa and the jet skis are extra, babysitting is charged, and the airport transfer is included only on certain honeymoon or promotional packages. The Family Swim-Up Room is the family upgrade and the Private Pool Suite the couples' one. Anyone who wants an adults-only calm should compare the quieter resorts along the same coast.
