Dunes d'Or Ocean Club is a family all-inclusive across from Agadir's beach, for families who want slides, clubs by age and a city within walking distance. It is about 24 minutes from Agadir's airport, a four-star with 435 rooms, three pools with waterslides and a children's pool, a heated indoor pool at the spa, and four restaurants. The beach opposite is a nine-kilometre arc of Atlantic sand, calmer than most of this coast because of the bay's curve. Older listings still call it LABRANDA Les Dunes d'Or.
Guests praise the position across from the beach, the family facilities and the slides, the friendly staff and the pools. The complaints are food variety and restaurant consistency, pools that get crowded or run cold, rooms and facilities that show their age or a renovation, and a slow reception. The thing people wish they had known is to expect practical all-inclusive dining rather than destination dining, and to ask about renovation work before accepting a room.
The plan covers all four restaurants, the bars with the cocktail of the day and the house drinks, Wi-Fi and the clubs for ages four to eight, nine to twelve and thirteen to seventeen; the minibar, the gratuities, the hammam and spa, the excursions and the airport transfer are extra, and premium brands may be too. Confirm the slide and water-park hours before booking if that is why you are coming. The 46-square-metre Junior Suite Sea View is the room with a living area, and a sea-view standard beats a pool-view one for the money. Anyone after polished luxury should look at the resorts outside the city.
