Our full take on Kudadoo Maldives Private Island
Kudadoo is fifteen overwater residences on a private island in Lhaviyani Atoll, reached by a forty-minute flight from Male. Each residence runs to 300 square metres, or 380 with two bedrooms, and each has a 44 square metre infinity pool of its own. The house reef and lagoon are the setting; the butler and the residence are the product. It carries a 9.5 with us, among the highest scores in our catalog.
The inclusive model here is the reason to look, because it reaches further than almost anywhere else in the Maldives. Signature spa treatments are included. So are private excursions, sandbank trips, dolphin and snorkelling outings, jet skis, wakeboarding and the rest of the watercraft, the minibar, and room service around the clock. Dining is unscripted rather than menu-bound: eat in The Retreat, in your residence, on the beach or wherever you would rather be, at whatever hour. Two exceptions are named and worth naming: the undersea restaurant at the sister resort is charged, and so is the flight in.
Our sample puts a night at 4,111 dollars for two, and the way to make that number defensible is to use what it covers, since the spa treatments, private boats and excursions are where an ordinary Maldives bill runs away. Guests who found the value thin were mostly those who stayed longer and wanted more variety than one island and one kitchen can offer, so three to five nights may be the honest length. It is very quiet indeed.
