The location Is great since it is close to the best parks (that are included (with transportation)). However "Xel-Ha" has limited transport which was a bummer since the park doesn't have many activities, we had to get a taxi to return to the hotel earlier than the allotted time. The "all inclusive" ...

The resort is great, service is good and most of the staff is kind and helpful. We had a lovely stay here. Food at most places is great, well above average compared to other all inclusive resorts. Drinks are a bit disappointing - they use cheap liquors unless you specifically ask them not to. My ma...

This review is for hotel Xcaret Arte specifically. I went to all the parks and visited Hotel Xcaret Mexico as well but I stayed at Arte so this review is specific to that. I just got back from spending four nights down there and I can honestly say I had a wonderful experience. It is a bit expensive,...

10/10 – Perfection from Start to Finish This was, without question, one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had — and we travel a lot. From the moment you arrive, everything at Xcaret Arte feels intentional, elevated, and genuinely special. The design is stunning, the atmosphere is relaxed yet ...

I am writing to provide feedback regarding a recent stay at the Hotel Xcaret Arte in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where I was part of a wedding party of 20 guests from the U.S. and Canada. We occupied several rooms across various buildings from Dec 8-11. Overall Experience: The hotel is beautiful, lux...

What it does best

  • Exceptional design, art-focused architecture and strong food identity.
  • Included access and transportation to Grupo Xcaret parks materially improves value for active travelers.
  • Excellent fit for couples, food-focused travelers and adults who want a resort with more to do than beach and pool.

Where it costs you

  • Expensive compared with typical Riviera Maya all-inclusives.
  • The beach is beautiful but cove-style and not the best fit for long open-ocean beach walkers.
  • Some guests find dining reservations and app logistics frustrating.

What else the research turned up

Things to know before you book

  • This is adults-only for guests 16 and older, not strictly 18-plus.
  • The strongest value comes from using the All-Fun Inclusive access to Xcaret parks, airport transfers and included transportation.
  • Restaurant reservations and paid signature experiences should be planned early.

What guests say

Most loved

  • Architecture, art and resort design
  • Food and beverage quality
  • All-Fun Inclusive parks and transportation
  • Adults-only atmosphere

Most common complaints

  • High price
  • Restaurant reservation difficulty
  • Service inconsistency in some recent guest reports
  • Beach is more lagoon/cove than classic long beach

Things people wish they had known

  • Use the included parks and transport to justify the price.
  • Reserve restaurants and premium experiences as early as allowed.
  • Choose another resort if a wide, uninterrupted beach is the top priority.

From Reddit

Reddit reviews are generally very positive about design, included parks, food and the adult atmosphere, but recurring practical complaints include difficult reservations, occasional service problems and disagreement over whether the premium price is worth it.
