Grand Palladium Colonial is a family all-inclusive inside the Palladium complex on the Riviera Maya, for families who want a big tropical estate. There are clubs for every age. It is about 60 minutes from Cancun's airport, with 252 rooms of its own, six pools, a water park and a private beach, and the run of selected sister-resort facilities on the same shore. It sells scale, and the scale is real: the walk to dinner can be a shuttle ride.

Guests praise the family amenities and the kids' and teens' clubs, the pools and the swim-up bars, the size of the grounds and the beachfront. The complaints are the friction of booking restaurants, food that is inconsistent, the walking and shuttle logistics, and rooms whose condition varies. The thing people wish they had known is that not every restaurant in the complex is open to Colonial guests since the estate was reconfigured, and that the reservations are best made on arrival.

The plan covers the four a la carte restaurants and two show-cooking restaurants available to Colonial guests, eleven bars, a stocked minibar, Wi-Fi, the clubs and activities for children from one to nineteen, and the non-motorised water sports; the spa is extra, room service is limited, and the airport transfer is a paid private car.
