Baglioni Resort holds Maagau Island in Dhaalu Atoll, an Italian-run private island reached by a forty-five minute seaplane from Male. Villas come on the beach, over the water and with private pools, and three restaurants cover Italian and Japanese cooking alongside the international kitchen, with a pool bar. Guests rate the food and the villa hosts highly. The lagoon is calm and you can snorkel from the shore, though the house reef is decent rather than one of the atoll's great ones.
This one is genuinely all-inclusive rather than a package, which in the Maldives is worth stating plainly. Meals and drinks are broadly covered, the minibar is replenished, and there is a kids club, unusually for a resort this quiet. The spa is charged and the exact premium-bottle scope is not something we can verify, so ask about specialty dining and cellar exceptions before arrival rather than at the table. Nightlife does not exist here by design, and the recurring criticism is service that occasionally runs slow at the restaurants and bars.
