Which coast of Sri Lanka should I book?
The one that is dry in your month. December to March is prime for the south and west coasts, which hold most of the resorts and the best beaches. May to September is prime for the east, around Pasikuda and Trincomalee, when the south is washed out. Whichever you choose, build the trip around one side.
Is all-inclusive worth it in Sri Lanka?
For the beach days, yes: daily costs are low and the larger resorts run a generous plan. Plan on leaving it for a few days, though. The safaris, the hill-country train and the Cultural Triangle are the reason to fly this far, and no plan covers them.
