  1. Large curved pool with tiled edge, wooden-roofed palapa bar, palm trees, and white resort buildings under clear blue sky.
No. 1. Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana
    Cap Cana, Dominican Republic
    Five-star★ 4.6 (1,493)From $278/night ppFamily Palmprint 9.5/10

Excellent family infrastructure with water park, lazy river, kids club and teen lounge.

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is the family half of a two-resort complex on Juanillo Beach, inside the gated Cap Cana estate. The draw is infrastructure: 375 suites, seven restaurants and seven bars, and Canapolis, a water park with slides and a lazy river that is the reason most families pick this over its neighbours. Punta Cana airport is about fifteen minutes away. Juanillo is one of the better resort beaches on this coast, with the standing caveat that sargassum arrives most springs and summers and can change the week.

  2. Barefoot Grill open-air pavilion with picnic tables and umbrellas.
No. 2. Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana
    Playa Macao, Dominican Republic
    Five-star★ 4.3 (2,730)From $134/night ppFamily Palmprint 9.4/10

Excellent family waterpark and lazy river setup.

  3. Aerial view of Paradisus Grand Cana resort showing white multi-story buildings, turquoise pools, manicured lawns, and Caribbean Sea beyond palm-filled coastline.
No. 3. Paradisus Grand Cana - All Suites
    Bávaro, Dominican Republic
    Five-star★ 4.8 (8,722)From $189/night ppFamily Palmprint 9.3/10

No. 4. Club Med Punta Cana
    Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
    Four-star★ 4.6 (6,116)From $255/night ppFamily Palmprint 9.3/10

Outstanding family programming and kids clubs.

Club Med's long-running Punta Cana village is the value play, a four-star all-inclusive that leans into the brand's signature trapeze and circus school plus a CREACTIVE playground for kids, with a Zen Oasis zone when the adults need quiet. Great for multi-gen groups watching the budget. Best December through August.

  5. Oceanfront dining terrace with wicker chairs and blue-topped tables overlooking turquoise water, palm trees, and rocky outcroppings at Barceló Bávaro Palace.
    No. 5. Barceló Bávaro Palace
    Bávaro, Dominican Republic
    Five-star★ 4.7 (62,115)From $92/night ppFamily Palmprint 9.0/10

Excellent Bávaro Beach setting with calm, reef-protected water.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace is a very large family all-inclusive on Bavaro Beach, for families who want wide sand, four pools and a water park. It is about 20 minutes from Punta Cana's airport, with 1,402 rooms, eleven restaurants, fourteen bars, a golf course and a casino, and more than a thousand of those rooms carry a terrace jacuzzi. The beach rates higher with guests than the food or the service does, and by a clear margin.

  6. Blue lagoon-style pool with white pergola bar, palm trees, and white resort building under clear sky.
    No. 6. Riu Palace Bavaro
    Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
    Five-star★ 4.4 (6,801)From $130/night ppFamily Palmprint 9.0/10

True 24-hour all-inclusive with large dining and bar inventory.

  7. No. 7. Moon Palace The Grand - Punta Cana
    Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
    Five-star★ 4.6 (963)From $290/night ppFamily Palmprint 8.8/10

Large-scale family all-inclusive with strong dining and activity promise.

Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana is a large family all-inclusive with 1,678 rooms listed in its June 2026 factsheet, nine outdoor pools and a waterpark. Its published inventory lists 19 restaurants plus eight snack venues. Some facilities have phased-opening schedules; confirm the venues that matter to your trip rather than assuming every listed outlet is operating.

  8. Aerial of the beachfront resort between tropical forest and the turquoise sea.
No. 8. Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa
    El Cedro, Dominican Republic
    Five-star★ 4.3 (465)From $164/night ppFamily Palmprint 8.8/10

    New rooms

A family-friendly Dreams resort on the Dominican coast with a clever perk: guests 18 and over get free run of the neighboring adults-only Secrets Playa Esmeralda, so couples and parents get grown-up dining and bars next door. Best of both worlds on one beach. Bávaro sun runs essentially year-round.

  9. Nighttime resort courtyard with dramatic white stone archways, uplighting on gnarled trees, and scattered seating areas.
No. 9. Lopesan Caoba Lagoon Resort, Spa & Casino
    Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
    Five-star★ 4.9 (1,721)From $188/night ppFamily Palmprint 8.6/10

New resort with modern lagoon design.

  10. Large lagoon-style pool with turquoise water and sand beach surrounded by palm trees, lounge chairs, and multi-story resort buildings under clear sky.
No. 10. Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort, Spa & Casino
    Bávaro, Dominican Republic
    Five-star★ 4.9 (64,842)From $212/night ppFamily Palmprint 8.5/10

    Huge dining map

Lopesan Costa Bavaro is the modern megaresort of Punta Cana, for families and groups who want every facility on one site and do not mind a crowd. It stands on Bavaro Beach about 25 minutes from the airport, with 1,042 rooms, seven pools, a water park with a lazy river, a casino and a nightclub, and a resort boulevard that reads more like a small town than a hotel. A week here is a week that never needs to leave.

Plan the trip

Picking the resort is half the work; our Dominican Republic travel guide covers the rest: when to go, weather month by month, safety and entry requirements, and how the areas differ.

How this ranking works

Every list on this site uses the same resorts, with the all-inclusive fine print read so you don't have to. The order weighs verified guest ratings, what's genuinely included at the base rate, and how each property performs on the thing this list is about: here, dominican republic waterparks.

The seal next to a resort is its Palmprint: a 0 to 10 grade for how well it delivers on this list's promise, the same mark you'll find on its full profile. The details of what we weigh, and what disqualifies a resort outright, live in how we score. Lists are re-reviewed as ratings and policies change; this one was last checked October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the Dominican Republic list longer than the Punta Cana list?

Zemi Miches and Dreams Playa Esmeralda are open, record a waterpark, and sit outside the Punta Cana guide. Those are the two extra resorts.
