There are two ways I want to rate this review for the sake of an honest review. First, the island and then the resort. The Island: Magical. Pristine, untouched, secluded and awe inspiring. The ocean was so blue and clear (we are calling that kind of blue Bula Blue now). Tons of hermit crabs a...

This is the first time in my life I have ever left a low-rated review. We stayed here for our honeymoon, but the experience fell significantly short of expectations. Weather disruptions alone are understandable, but the level of support and handling throughout our stay was insufficient and inconsis...

Yasawa Island Resort occupies a truly beautiful and remote setting, and the staff are warm and kind. However, travelers accustomed to genuine five-star luxury should be aware that the experience does not align with the resort’s pricing or how it represents itself. During my stay, several core ameni...

Not recommended. The resort is quite old and not very clean. The air conditioning in the room wasn’t working properly, there were a lot of insects, and there was no Wi-Fi available. The food was average, and some of the staff seemed poorly trained.

The team running the resort is warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making every guest feel welcome. Their kindness is woven into every interaction, and it gives the entire experi...

The Daily Reality

Food, pools & the beach itself

Where you'll actually spend the week: how many places there are to eat and drink, what the pool scene offers, and what the water in front of the resort is really like.

Dining & bars

1 restaurant1 barNo reservations needed· Fijian · Seafood · International · Private beach dining

The dining concept is personalized and flexible rather than multi-restaurant; official dining page says guests can dine in many resort settings.

Pools & waterplay

1 pool

Official experiences page lists an oceanfront infinity pool.

The beach itself

Calm, swimmable waterGradual walk-in entrySnorkeling from shoreNo sargassum (outside the Atlantic belt)

Private-island style setting with 11 private white-sand beaches and a kilometre-long house beach.

Venue counts come from the resort's own pages; beach conditions draw on monitoring data and consistent traveler reports. The sea doesn't read press releases, so treat seasonal notes as odds, not promises.

Pros

  • Only 18 beachfront bures.
  • Eleven private beaches and a long house beach.

Cons

  • Fiji is not yet in the country guide vocabulary.
  • Alcohol is not included in the base official inclusion list.
  • Very poor remote-work fit.

Things to know

  • Yasawa Island Resort & Spa is an intimate 18-bure Fiji escape built for privacy, romance and disconnection.
  • The base official all-inclusive includes meals, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks and scheduled activities, but alcohol is extra or packaged separately.
  • It is intentionally poor for remote work: bures are TV- and Wi-Fi-free.

Hidden tips

  • Book Lomalagi Bure for the most private pool-villa experience.
  • Confirm alcohol package pricing before arrival.
  • Do not book during Family Weeks if you want a strictly adults-only atmosphere.
