It is about 40 minutes from Faro, with 270 rooms, two restaurants, three pools counting a heated indoor one, golf beside it and the Ria Formosa nature reserve around it. The beach is reached seasonally by train and boat rather than on foot, and the sport is the reason to come.
Guests praise the golf and the sports programming, the buffet variety, the staff and the active atmosphere, and the quiet of the Ria Formosa setting. The complaints are a beach that is not attached to the resort, sports, golf and excursions that cost extra, and outdoor pools that are not heated. The thing people wish they had known is that this is a club with a sporting identity rather than a beach resort, and that the plan is broad without being total.
