Grand Palladium Sicilia is a 469-room resort on the north coast of Sicily, at Campofelice di Roccella. It is built for families more deliberately than anything else in our Italian catalog. The clubs run from age one: a Baby Club for one to three, a Mini Club for four to eleven and a Junior Club for twelve to sixteen. Four pools sit behind that, including a family pool, a beach pool and a children's version of it, with indoor and heated water for the shoulder months.
Four restaurants cover a show-cooking buffet plus Italian, seafood and Thai rooms, with six bars, and the a la carte dinners need booking on arrival because availability is the most common complaint here. Two things are outside the band that guests reasonably expect inside it: room service is charged, and so is the spa unless you book Signature Level, which adds the water circuit, a premium drinks menu and its own quieter pool. Drinks otherwise pour from half past seven in the morning until midnight. The beach is direct and has a lifeguard, but it is the mixed sand and pebble of this coast rather than a soft tropical shelf.
We have no reliable rate sample for this one, and the number that matters most is a different one: Palermo airport is about two hours away, and there is no easy walk into town from the resort. Plan a hire car or excursions before you arrive, or accept a week spent entirely on the property, which for a family with small children may be exactly the plan.
