The list below ranks the country's resorts by real guest ratings, our score breakdowns, and plan generosity. Italian plans are lighter than Caribbean ones by tradition, so the included-versus-extra picture on each resort page matters more than the headline rate. Tap through for it, and see our Italy guide for the Sicily-or-Sardinia decision.

Plan the trip
Picking the resort is half the work; our Italy travel guide covers the rest: when to go, weather month by month, safety and entry requirements, and how the areas differ.
How this ranking works
Every list on this site draws from the same catalog: resorts we've individually researched, with the all-inclusive fine print read so you don't have to. The order weighs verified guest ratings, what's genuinely included at the base rate, and how each property performs on the thing this list is about: here, italy.
The seal next to a resort is its Palmprint: our 0–10 grade for how well it delivers on this list's promise, the same mark you'll find on its full profile. The details of what we weigh, and what disqualifies a resort outright, live in how we score. Lists are re-reviewed as ratings and policies change; this one was last checked September 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Sicily or Sardinia for an all-inclusive?
Sicily when the beach is only half the point: temples, Etna, Baroque towns and the food are all within a day of the resorts. Sardinia for the swimming, with coves and water that stay beautiful even in August, at a higher price and with much less to do inland.
When is the best time for a beach holiday in Italy?
June and September. July and August are hot, busy and priced accordingly, though Sardinia's water is at its best then. October brings the first rain, and the season on both islands winds down by then.
When is the best time to visit Italy?
The sweet spot is June and September; July–August is hot, busy, and priced accordingly. The rainy season runs October–December. No tropical systems: classic dry-summer Mediterranean climate.
