Baobab Beach Resort is a large family all-inclusive on Diani Beach, for families who want Kenya's best-known sand at a fair price. It is about 49 minutes from Mombasa's airport, a four-star with 323 rooms in gardens above the beach, three pools, a swim-up bar, five dining venues and an animation team that keeps the day busy. The beach is the reason to come and the tide decides when you swim.
Guests praise the Diani Beach setting, the pools and the grounds, and the animation team and the family activities. The complaints are rooms that feel dated in some blocks, tides that close the swimming for part of the day, and extra charges on some facilities and on the transfers. The thing people wish they had known is that the beach is beautiful and tide-dependent, and that this is a big activity-forward resort rather than a small retreat.
