Which coast of Zanzibar is best for families?
The north, for reliable all-day swimming at Nungwi and Kendwa. The east coast for the beach and the biggest resort choice, as long as you are happy to swim on the tide's schedule; the pool covers the low-water hours. The south is quieter and cheaper with fewer family facilities.
When is the best time for a family trip to Zanzibar?
June to October and December to February. The long rains run from mid-March to May, with April seriously wet, and the short rains fall in November. Zanzibar is too close to the equator for cyclones.
