Where on Rhodes should I stay?

Faliraki for a short transfer and nightlife, Kolymbia and Afandou for calm, Lindos for the view and the acropolis, and Kiotari and Lardos in the south for space and the newest resorts. All are on the east coast, which is the sheltered side.

Rhodes for the best-value big-resort beaches, a short transfer and the most sunshine hours in Greece; Crete for the deepest choice, the food and a longer season at both ends. Both have an old town worth a day.

When is the best time to visit Rhodes?

The sweet spot is June and September; July–August is hottest, busiest and windiest. The rainy season runs November–February. No tropical systems: dry Aegean summers with the meltemi wind, and among the most sunshine hours in Greece.
