Shangri-La Yanuca Island is a big family resort on a private island joined to Viti Levu by a causeway, for families who want island life without a boat. It is about 50 minutes from Nadi's airport, with 443 rooms on 109 acres, four restaurants, two bars, a lagoon, a water park and the Little Chiefs Club for ages four to eleven. It is the family and beach choice against the Denarau hotels, and it comes with the trade-offs of its size.

Fiji Marriott Momi Bay is a polished main-island resort with overwater bures, for travellers who want that room without an outer-island flight. It is about 45 minutes from Nadi, with 250 rooms, three pools including an adults-only infinity pool and a children's pool with water guns, and a sheltered man-made lagoon in front of it. The bures are why it lands on lists like this, and the catch is the location: there is nothing to walk to.

Plan the trip

Picking the resort is half the work; our Fiji travel guide covers the rest: when to go, weather month by month, safety and entry requirements, and how the areas differ.

How this ranking works

Every list on this site uses the same resorts, with the all-inclusive fine print read so you don't have to. The order weighs verified guest ratings, what's genuinely included at the base rate, and how each property performs on the thing this list is about: here, fiji family.

The seal next to a resort is its Palmprint: a 0 to 10 grade for how well it delivers on this list's promise, the same mark you'll find on its full profile. The details of what we weigh, and what disqualifies a resort outright, live in how we score. Lists are re-reviewed as ratings and policies change; this one was last checked October 2026.
